Special wife of 48 years.
Judith was my very special and much-loved wife. Born in Belfast, her sharp wit and love of fun made her friends wherever she went. Having met me, Jeremy, a serving Army officer in 1970, the next seven years as an Army wife set the tone, before settling in London in 1982 where she soon began working, making another wide group of friends. When Jeremy retired from Territorial Army service in 1995, they both took up motorcycling and ranged far and wide across Europe. Later, when she and Jeremy were fully retired, overseas holidays became a feature of their life and as recently as October 2019 they were in Mauritius, before a quick trip to France over night 28/29 November. Judith was admitted to St George's Hospital, Tooting on 4 December and was responding well to treatment, when on the evening of 6 December she suffered a mild stroke (intracerebral haemorrhage) followed not long after by another much more severe attack. She died the following morning aged only 70, a birthday she had only just celebrated in September.. Her very Irish sense of humour and fun, as well as her kindness and compassion will be long remembered by her many friends. She deeply loved her family, in particular her four grandchildren. In her memory her family hope that any donations will aid research into methods to prevent this cruel condition that can snatch loved ones away in the prime of life.
