Nia was a fun-loving character, with ambitions larger than life. A very special girl who impacted the lives of everyone she met.
During 2019 and 2020, a crazy amount of money and awareness was raised, taking forms of a half marathon, a full marathon, hockey tribute games, a triathlon, a sports hall in her name and many more. Wow.
When remembering Nia, the happy memories flood in and overwhelm the sad memories. A personal favourite memory of mine was a community gathering that took place at Trosnant Farm, Cantref, where an Easter egg hunt was held. We ran around the fields like wild things before finding our way to a swing that was (questionably) hanging from a tree...
I remember falling backwards from the swing and Nia laughing so hard. I will cherish that laugh forever, as I'm sure many of her family and friends will - she truly did have the best laugh.
I hope she knew how much we all loved her.
Please keep your eyes peeled for upcoming fundraisers or events being held in her memory. For obvious, pandemic-related reasons, many fundraisers and events were placed on hold but I know many of us are looking forward to re-establishing those plans.
Thomas, Hannah, Rowan, Finn, Nia's family and friends are forever thankful for the continuous donations received. You're all incredible - I think she would be blown away by how many people miss her every. single. day. It means the absolute world and the money donated will be used to raise awareness of stroke and support the lives of stroke survivors and their families. It's heart warming to know Nia is continuing to make positive change in the world. <3
